JobStreet.com is an online job matching platform that was first established in Malaysia back in 1997. With its aim to bridge the gap between employers and prospective applicants, JobStreet has expanded its operations to Singapore, Hongkong, Indonesia, Vietnam, and the Philippines. In the 2011 Philippines Statistics Authority’s BLES-Integrated Survey, JobStreet was reported to have penetrated 77.7% share of entry-level jobs through online recruitment in the country. This is reflected in its database of around 230,000 registered corporate hirers and over 15 million registered jobseekers.The collaboration between DOLE and JobStreet, initially forged under an MOU signed last 17 September 2014, was renewed during the event. JobStreet, as represented by Mr. Philip Gioca, has agreed to create different forms of informational materials for DOLE-Labor and Employment Education Services (LEES), JobsFit LMI Report, and other joint special LMI studies. They will also aid the Department in the promotion and marketing of DOLE and PESO job fairs.
The renewal MOU with Hallo Hallo Inc. was signed at the event as represented by Mr. Maxim Beatty, Chief Operating Officer. They agreed to market and promote the improved PhilJobNet platform, and the DOLE’s annual activities such as Labor Day Job Fair, Career Guidance Week and National PESO Congress. Hallo Hallo Inc. is an e-commerce-focused company founded by in March 2012. The company has branched out to different business umbrellas such as the web-based job search portal, Hallo HalloJobs.
Also, a new private sector partner, Hiring PH, as represented by its president, Mr. Julio Miguel Pascual Azurin, agreed to create a DOLE-Hiring PH brand of SMS job advertisement platform. Jobseekers can simply text a specific code via SMS and they will be responded to with details of the latest openings for the line of work they are searching for.
Hiring PH is a startup company with prospect of helping alleviate unemployment in the Philippines through innovative services. It is owned and managed by Jomian Business Services, Inc. Hiring PH promotes the use of text messages as a platform to disseminate employment vacancies in order to reach the minimum wage earners and blue-collared workers.
