BLE Conducts National Human Resource Summit

The Bureau of Local Employment (BLE) has successfully conducted the National Human Resource Summit on 17 December 2013 at the Century Park Hotel, Manila.

The event involved the Launching of the “Career Guidance Advocacy Plan (CGAP) 2013-2016” and “JobsFit Labor Market Information (LMI) Report 2013-2020”.

A Keynote Speech was delivered by Secretary Rosalinda Dimapilis-Baldoz which detailed huge strides made by DOLE together with other government agencies and stakeholders in addressing key labor and employment issues; primarily the job and skill disparity prevalent in the country.

“I am confident that through the updated JobsFit and the newly-crafted CGAP, job-skills mismatch would be gradually addressed” she said.

An audio-visual presentation on the Career Guidance Advocacy Plan 2013-2016 was shown to the audience. Subsequently, BLE Director Dominique R. Tutay presented the key findings, identified challenges/gaps and recommendations of the JobsFit LMI Report.

To further expound on the different roles of other government agencies with the report and plan, a panel discussion transpired in the summit with the participation of DOLE Secretary Rosalinda Baldoz, DOST Secretary Mario Montejo, PRC Chairperson Teresita Manzala, TESDA Deputy Director-General Irene Isaac, and CHED Commissioner  Bautista. After the panel discussion, an open forum was facilitated by NWPC Executive Director Sy for the audience to raise clarifications, inquiries, and suggestions.

Officially ending the event, DOLE Assistant Secretary Rebecca J. Calzado thanked the NHRS Secretariat in successfully hosting such an event.
